In the year 2020, a solar-powered water pumping project was officially implemented in the city of Lasanod, located in the Sool region. This project was initiated to address the water shortage faced by the local community, especially for those living in rural areas without access to clean or consistent sources of water.
The project, funded by the SOMNUUR organization , focused on providing a sustainable and environmentally friendly solution—by harnessing solar energy to power water pumps, thereby eliminating the reliance on expensive fuel or constant electricity supply.
This initiative not only improved access to clean water but also positively impacted public health, reduced the burden on women and children who often travel long distances to fetch water, and inspired similar green energy solutions in nearby regions.
